As the Intake Coordinator you are often the first point of contact for women and children who are living in or have left a violent relationship. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for providing a “whole of family” risk assessment and immediate safety plan for all EMH referrals. You will work with women to develop case plans, using a strengths based response to empower and foster self-determination. Additionally, the Intake Coordinator will triage all referrals and work with other EMHAWS staff to allocate women and their families to short term, or long term case managers, and offer appropriate referrals when necessary.
This position is an important pathway and resource for women and children affected by family violence; providing practical support and information, referrals and advocacy.
EMHAWS is committed to the integration of services within the broader service system. EMHAWS will ensure that all women and their children in EMHAWS catchments are able to access a range of family violence support services, housing services and family support services, both Aboriginal and mainstream.
The EMHAWS Intake Coordinator will be based at the EMHAWS Head Office located in Northcote.
