Housing Support

Family violence is the leading cause of homelessness in Victoria. We understand the need for holistic support to address immediate & long term housing needs.

We can provide housing support & information, including:

  • referrals for crisis accommodation

  • referrals for transitional housing accommodation

  • submit applications for long term housing such as the Office of Housing and Aboriginal Housing Victoria.

  • Referrals for private rental programs

  • Assistance to secure your home - we can seek funding to get locks changed and install alarm systems

Our Case Managers may also be able to assist with referrals or direct representation at Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) for rental arrears or property damage.

If you would like housing support, contact us on 9403 9400.

Pilot program: Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP)

Elizabeth Morgan House have been funded by the federal government to develop a pilot program that assist with providing emergency accommodation to our women that is trauma informed and culturally safe.

Family violence and housing, and homelessness services are not always culturally safe for our women, as our definition of family violence and even 'family' is not the same as mainstream services.

The pilot will capture all the information of any referrals and secondary consults completed whether they receive support from the CAP or not. This allows us to track a holistic overview of the women accessing support and a snapshot of woman, and external agencies attempting to access support.

How can you access the CAP?

Contact us for secondary consults via our intake team on (03) 9403 9400.

We welcome Aboriginal women, children and young people, including parents of Aboriginal children, as well as partners and ex-partners of Aboriginal people, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, non-binary, sistergirls, brotherboys, intersex and two spirit queer folk who identify as women or feel comfortable accessing a women’s service.
