Elizabeth Morgan House is now open on Wednesdays at the Carlton Baths.
We have joined with Melbourne City Council as part of the Victorian Government’s Free from Violence Local Government Program, to establish a crucial initiative: providing a safe haven for Aboriginal women and their children within the Melbourne area.
After thorough exploration of potential sites, the decision was made to set up the outpost at the Carlton Baths. This location offers the advantage of co-location with City of Melbourne Family Services Teams, enhancing accessibility to essential resources. This pilot will be the only service run by an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in the municipality.
Come and visit us every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm at the Carlton Baths, 216-248 Rathdowne Street, Melbourne by first making an appointment on (03)9403 9400.
To further promote health and wellbeing, clients and their children will also be able to use the Carlton Baths facilities and select programs at no cost.
The outpost was opened by the City of Melbourne Lord Mayor Nick Reece and Tim Richardson, Parliamentary Secretary for Men’s Behaviour Change and staff on Wednesday 17 July.
